A few months ago I came across a news website for some 'fun reading'...... -_-
And, I also spotted an article about this teenage boy speaking in many different languages in a video.
Unfortunately, I was too lazy to open anything with the word 'video' in it, so I let it pass. Until a few days ago I decided to re-open the page and there he was, a sixteen-year-old American teenager speaking in OVER 20 LANGUAGES.
Now that's legit talent.....
The latter's name is Timothy Doner from NYC. Experts classify him as a 'Hyperpolyglot', which is basically someone who can speak six or more languages. You might have heard about this gifted person, but I'll write it anyway.
Timothy was drawn into learning languages when he started learning Hebrew. Then, it expanded into Farsi, German, Dutch, French, Swahili, Arabic, Yiddish, Hindi, Italian, Mandarin, Indonesian....you name it!
Right after reading some information (and watching some of Tim's vids....I'm actually a subscriber, I learn a lot from him!), I had the urge to learn foreign languages, too. That was when I grabbed......
....French books!
If you come take a look at my family's bookshelf, it is stuffed with books on learning foreign languages. My dad had books about Spanish, Dutch, Japanese (though it may have disappeared when we moved several years ago), Italian, English, and of course, French. Now, the French ones, they're so easy to spot because both of my parents used to study French (they studied Hotel Management and Hotel Administration during college, so the language is essential for them). It also occurred to me that most English words comes from French (30% of it). Overall, the language is easy to learn, the only tricky part is EVERYTHING HAS A GENDER IN FRENCH.
But, no worries, I might sign up for some French classes the moment I enter high school. So there's plenty of help. Maybe I'll pick up some German and Arabic, too. Anything works.
I guess Timothy Doner had rubbed off his language-thirsty brain on me....

Yesterday, I finally bought the book of my dreams....
No, it's not The Hunger Games or The Mortal Instruments. It's.....(scroll down for answer)
.....Ranah 3 Warna by the inspirational Ahmad Fuadi!
When I finished reading the first book (it's a trilogy. The first book was Negeri 5 Menara or The Land of Five Towers for the English edition), I craved for more. Hence this book exists in my bookshelf! It's a very enlightening story about a young man from Maninjau, West Sumatra, named Alif Fikri, and his rough path to success.
It's a good thing I bought this book! At least there's a reason to avoid YouTube for the next few days...
For those who haven't read Ranah 3 Warna, go get one! It's definitely worth your time... :)

Ladies and gentlemen...
I have a very special announcement.
I'M ACCEPTED TO MY DREAM HIGH SCHOOL!
SMAN 10 Malang Leadership Academy, that is!
But, unfortunately, I'm not going to stay in a dormitory. I'm still going to stay with my parents and brothers for the next three years. Oh, but who cares? The important thing is, I got myself a school and a scholarship.
That leaves my exam grades on the first of July. I'm nervous, that's no denying it, but when you already have a school to go to, life is much, MUCH, easier to enjoy... ;)
This is what I'll be doing soon after this blog post is published!
